In June 2022 Flatpack Film Festival commissioned me to create a visual identity for the first ever Balsall Heath Film Festival.

Balsall Heath is a part of Birmingham with a strong filmic history, with many cinemas operating during the 50s, 60s and 70s. Migrant communities settled in the area at the time, many from South Asia, which led to many of the cinemas in the area to be transforming in Indian cinemas - largely showing popular Bollywood films of the time.

I wanted to grab the attention of South Asian audiences by using classic Bollywood iconography. Further to this, I created versions of the programme in Urdu and Panjabi to make it more accessible to older generations.
