Nice to meet ya!
I’m Sharonjit, a Birmingham based Graphic Designer and Artist with a penchant for projects that have the potential for social change.
My recent work has largely been focussed around the Balsall Heath, Ladywood and Druids Heath areas of Birmingham, however I have been involved in community projects all around the midlands.

More about my very mixed practice
Arts & Crafts Background
Alongside being a graphic designer, I have a multi-disciplinary arts practice involving painting, textiles, printing, ceramics and illustration. Where possible, I try to involve these skills in my designs to retain a tactile element – which is important when working on people focused projects. More of my artwork can be seen here.
South Asian Arts Collective
I am a co-founder of SAAC (South Asian Arts Collective) which aims to bring the diverse South Asian community together to have conversations about our heritage and the British Asian experience. Over the past few years we have hosted a multitude events at Kings Heath Art rooms, Moseley Hive and Saheli hub. Most recently we have been working with Flatpack festival to create community events that bring inter-faith and intergenerational cohesiveness. We are hoping to carry on this momentum and work on more collective projects.
His Name’s Not Charlie
In 2022 I received Arts Council funding to work an a film about names and peoples’ relationships to them, inspired by my Grandad who moved to this country in the 1970s and had his name appropriated to Charlie. I soon had people come to me with their own stories, which I am going to document in this film. Snippets of work on this project can be seen here.
